En el sistema ptolemaico el cielo estaba compuesto por capas esf\u00e9ricas, como una especie de cebolla: las estrellas y los planetas, seg\u00fan esta simple imagen, estaban fijados en esferas parecidas a \u00f3rbitas, de diferentes tama\u00f1os, situadas unas dentro de otras, con en el centrar la Tierra. No es as\u00ed, como sabemos somos solo una mota de polvo en el cosmos, pero el concepto de la esfera sigue fascinando a la humanidad por su perfecci\u00f3n. Los cuatro motivos decorativos de la esfera tienen nombre: Perlage, Intrecci, Margherite y Stelle.
