“Jewelry so soft that it’s a pleasure to wear.” Mattia Cielo’s slogan pairs his jewelry with soft cashmere wool: flexible, lightweight, almost ethereal. With this concept, in 2026 the Italian brand won second place in the Best in Diamonds Below $40K category at the Couture Design Awards in Las Vegas. The finalist was the Rugiada ring, a flexible ring dubbed the “slinky ring” by the judges, a reference to the pastime consisting of a large helical spring capable of expanding and contracting.<\/p>\n

Mattia Cielo is part of a family of jewelers with a long tradition, active with the parent company Cielo Venezia 1270. The flexible gold threads that compose his jewelry are often embellished with precious or semi-precious stones, as in the case of the Rugiada collection, launched a few years ago. These jewels are made of gold and titanium, with thin, flexible metal wires. The spirals are set with diamonds that resemble, indeed, dewdrops.<\/p>\n

Over the next two years, Mattia Cielo expanded the collection, adding colored stones alongside the diamonds. Thus, tourmalines and amethysts appeared, as well as emeralds, which seem to have transformed the dew not only into a winter wonderland, but also into springtime hues. The concept of moving jewelry, so dear to the Vicenza-based designer, has remained unchanged. The only difference: some of the jewelry in the collection destined for the US market is produced directly in America, perhaps to avoid the tariffs imposed on certain products. Other models, however, continue to be produced in Italy. After all, dew is the same all over the world.<\/p>\n
