This is demonstrated by the fact that someone is willing to spend $55 million on a necklace with a diamond the size of an egg hanging from it. It is the most expensive necklace in the world. To buy it, however, you have to go to Singapore, where it was put on display. Known as the Incomparable, the luxury necklace was created by jeweler Mouawad.<\/p>\n

\nThe \u00a0diamond that serves as the pendant is over 407 carats, while the rose gold is studded with another 90 white diamonds weighing almost 230 carats. Even carrying it shouldn’t be a joke: it probably requires adequate weight training. The necklace, featuring the diamond that was found by chance in a pile of rubble by a young woman in the Democratic Republic of Congo about 30 years ago, was the flashiest item at the Singapore JewelFest. Which also had a touch of Italy. In fact, the precious necklace was kept by an Italian: Filippo Melchionni, chief operating officer for Asia-Pacific of the Ferrari Group, a luxury goods logistics company.
