The city, in ancient Greece, was powerful of the Peloponnesian League but, in art, it is famous above all for having given its name to those capitals of particularly elaborate columns. In short, anyone has seen the capitals in Corinthian style and immediately thought of the art of ancient Ellade. The metal used is brass, which is rhodiumed to make it white, or treated with a galvanizing method for gilding. Cubic zirconia, white or colored, are set inside the jewels.
