There are those who are content to wear jewelry. And there are those who, like Noor Fares, draw and wear jewels because they think that talismans, symbols and traditions are closely linked to human nature. That is, that the stones possess supernatural powers, the forged metal in a certain form can give peace, tranquility and keep away evil spirits, and so on. No ancient form of spirituality is forgotten by the Lebanese designer who grew up in Paris and emigrated to London. At the recent Design Room of VicenzaOro January, for example, Noor Fares presented, among other things, the Navratna collection. The name is that of a work in Sanskrit (ancient Indian language) which means &#8220;nine gems&#8221; and that, says the designer, it is said to provide an astrological balance and benefits the wearer. What kind of benefits and what kind of balance can only be said by those who try to wear the jewels of the collection. For those who are more skeptical, however, it may remain the pleasure to choose earrings, ring and necklaces that draw enveloping spirals or crescent. Gold, diamonds, stones like carnelian or garnet are the materials used by Noor Fares for Navratna.
