It is the ring that Pope Francis wore during his visit to Brazil. Therefore, no piscatory ring, which Popes traditionally wear on their right ring finger and which represents the visible sign of his authority. Pope Francis&#8217; ring, on the other hand, is nothing new. It is a jewel of a symbolic nature, which the Pontiff already possessed before his accession to the throne of Saint Peter.
