Lucifer, an honest man: oh dear, who would say such a thing? The answer is: Luna Scamuzzi, who in 1999, together with her husband Paolo Mandelli, founded Lucifer Vir Honestus, a jewelry brand now sold worldwide, from Milan to Miami, USA. The name of the Maison, let’s clarify immediately, is the pseudonym of the first goldsmith who lived in Milan during the Middle Ages. But it’s not a diabolical hymn: the idea is that Lucifer, as his name suggests, before being a devil was a bearer of light, a symbol of inspiration emerging from darkness.<\/p>\n

A strange pseudonym, one the designer discovered while studying architecture. Lucifer Vir Honestus’s jewelry is avant-garde design. Not at all diabolical, but certainly not traditional either: rather dense jewelry, resembling sculptures of metal that undulates like tongues of hellish fire. In reality, they are very eye-catching, yet at the same time easily wearable. Each piece is handcrafted using the lost-wax technique, all completed in the Milan studio. The creator, in fact, doesn’t design the pieces, but directly molds the wax with her hands, from which she then creates the jewelry shape. Lucifer Vir Honestus is now also a clothing brand.<\/p>\n
