No crisis: jewels and watches pull, go, call back. This is demonstrated by the numbers of Baselworld, the Swiss event that attracts the world’s cr\u00e9me of the sector: the 41st edition closed with a boom. Starting from the record number of visitors: 122 thousand from a hundred different countries, +17% compared to 2012. So much for the recession. Producers can’t complain: buyers pounced like locusts, with 3,610 accredited journalists (+9%). \u00abIt was an extraordinary event. Now we can reap the fruits of this work: a unique show in the world, both for the new quality offered and for the aesthetics”, commented Jacques J. Duch\u00eane, president of the exhibitors’ committee. From next year, however, there will be a change or, better yet, a return to tradition: the fair will be held from 27 March to 3 April. This year it was postponed to allow work on the new pavilion to be completed.
