Let’s face it: this great ship will not be a real gem, but not out of place in a jewelry store. The author is Ann Carrington<\/strong>, British artist. The composition of two great galleons of pearls, in fact, is inspired by Wing Wo Wave City, an industrial area in the province of Zhuijang, China, which produces a huge amount of cultured pearls. This sculpture consists of hundreds of small beads a three-masted galleon, floating over a sea of \u200b\u200bopulent brooches, earrings, necklaces and tiaras. Carrington explains that the intention is to highlight “the discrepancy between their role as status symbol timeless and reality, often not very romantic.” That the galleon would be a pirate ship? Maybe. Ann Carrington studied at Bournville College of Art, Birmingham and the Royal College of Art, where she graduated in 1987. He was invited by the United Nations in 2010 to produce works of art that encourage reflection on current problems.<\/p>\n
