If you have silver jewelery or have money to invest, pay close attention to the value of this metal. Silver is the most followed after gold. And, despite the run-up in prices, Credit Suisse has raised its forecasts on the prices of gold and silver for both 2013 and 2014. In short, for the Swiss bank, the yellow and white metal could see high prices on the rise. Is it therefore worth rushing to invest in silver? Calm down, take a deep breath and look at the price expressed in this graph (it relates to the morning of Wednesday 27 March): the green line that goes down shows a precipitous drop in the value of silver. A sign that those who want to bet their savings on silver must think carefully and, at the very least, not suffer heartily from sudden changes in prices. For example, in April 2011 the price of silver reached an all-time high of 49.79 per ounce. Today we are just over half. Yet, silver continues to attract savers, so much so that in recent months the US Mint has put all the 2013 American Eagle coins minted on the market. According to the aforementioned Credit Suisse, precious metals will benefit from fears linked to a possible downgrading of the US by Moody’s and demand from China and India. What to do? To avoid making mistakes, purchasing a silver jewel could be an idea. Precious.
