There is the tiger, there is the rhinoceros, there is the elephant, there is the rhinoceros, but it is not a zoo: the Urban Animals collection by Mattioli is part of the jewelry trend that draws inspiration from the natural world for style exercises based on gold and precious stones. The four wild animals are transported to the urban jungle and become groups of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. The style? A tribalism that combines with echoes of art deco. Nature and culture, in short, with curved lines and broken angles. For the most uncertain animal lovers, each piece is numbered and engraved with the name of the species. The face of each animal welcomes details in moonstone, kogolong, obsidian and diamonds. But there is not only the charm of the forest. Mattioli draws inspiration from the history of Italian art with two unique pieces inspired by the seasons of Arcimboldo, a Renaissance painter who painted faces formed by fruit, vegetables and books. At Baselworld, Summer and Autumn were presented; at the next VicenzaOro it will be the turn of Winter: rings composed of precious stones, testimony to a cultural heritage that moves from art galleries to jewelry.
