Actresses and (who knows) actors present at the presentation of the most coveted award in the world of cinema will receive a gift of jewelery of uncertain quality, made by an artisan-goldsmith who works in a small town near Boston, Brockton. Marcia Fleming, owner of the Essentials Etc boutique, was chosen to package handmade jewelry to give to nominees and presenters at the Academy Awards ceremony. Fleming had the task of packaging her pearl cluster earrings in gift bags for around one hundred attendees at the ceremony. \u201cI’m very excited about the opportunity,\u201d said Marcia Fleming, probably ignoring the reactions of those who will receive what look like mini-bunches of dried grapes. Fleming’s earrings were selected for the Gift Lounge Gbk, where the creations are exhibited and actors and actresses are photographed. \u00abI decided to make cluster earrings of pearls in different colors\u00bb, said the artisan-goldsmith. \u201cIt’s almost like I’m in a dream,\u201d she sighed. But maybe it’s a nightmare.
