In the cold Icelandic winter the volcanoes of the Scandinavian island do not go out. Nor does the creativity of the Icelandic designer Gu\u00f0bj\u00f6rg Krist\u00edn Ingvarsd\u00f3ttir fail, who together with her husband Karl J\u00f3hann J\u00f3hannsson founded the jewelery brand Aurum<\/strong> about twenty years ago in Reykjav\u00edk, which is also distributed outside Iceland. The new collection of Aurum is called Eagle, the king of birds, which also flies over the land of Iceland. Plus a cultural reference, the poem inspired by a spectacular location, Hornbjarg (horn cliff) by J\u00f3nas Hallgr\u00edmmsson, one of Iceland’s best-loved authors, where there is also a bird reserve.<\/p>\n

The collection includes a selection of jewelry with elements reminiscent of eagle wings: necklaces, earrings, ear crawlers, bracelets, and rings. The feathers are made of recycled 925 silver, oxidized silver and 14 carat gold. Gu\u00f0bj\u00f6rg started her career studying goldsmithing at Copenhagen Technical College, she ran the Au-Art jewelery workshop in Copenhagen from 1996 to 1999 and then moved back to Iceland where she founded Aurum.<\/p>\n
