A bit (with due proportions) like the cubists of the early twentieth century, who admired African sculptures. He even changed his name (in the Maori language Ta Moko means tattoo) from his original name Marco Dal Maso, descendant of a family of Venetian jewelers. Now Marco Ta Moko is back with the Askari collection. The reference is to Africa: in Arabic the word askari means soldier.
