Dexter’s gear-jewels join an anti-AIDS charity initiative at the Salone del Mobile in Milan ♦ ︎
It’s called Dexter. No, it has nothing to do with the hit television series. The name derives, instead, from the Latin word dexter, which means skilled, expert, well done. But, in addition to ensuring craftsmanship in jewelry making, Dexter has another peculiarity: it proposes jewels that have a mechanical gear as a base. This eight-edge gear can itself be the jewel, or contain other iconic or decorative elements within it.
On the occasion of the Fuorisalone, an event widespread in Milan during the Salone del Mobile, Dexter also associates a social initiative with the commercial proposal: the collaboration with AnlAids (association to fight AIDS), alongside which for years it has been participating in Convivio, charity show-market promoted in Italy by the fashion world in support of the Association.
For the occasion Dexter proposes a special collection, always with its gear, called Gear People, which becomes a symbol of the fight against AIDS. Gear People is a jewel (unisex bracelet or necklace charm) made in silver and gold. The people who will wear it, in the intentions of the brand, “will become the testimonial of a lifestyle conscious and attentive to detail for care and health and, therefore, of what matters for each of us: love, friendship , the well-being of men and the planet, animal friends. In fact, the jewelery will be engraved with eight key words that embody this philosophy: respect, life, enjoy, karma, share, love, be, proud. The jewel will also be customizable, on request, with a special date.
The new solidarity collection will be launched in the Dexter Milano exhibition space at Fuorisalone, the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana in via Tortona 26, from 9 to 14 April, where it will also be possible to follow Dexter’s crafted gear chain jewelry design, from design to design, up to observe the different processing phases live.
