The Curiosity collection by Daniela Villegas is dedicated to explorers and naturalists ♦ ︎
Imagine a woman totally in love with nature. So much to collect insects and conceive fantastic jewels that reproduce the shape of small animals, but also of wild flowers and plants. And now try to imagine who the heroes can be in the pantheon of Daniela Villegas, bold Mexican designer based in Los Angeles. The answer is easy: it is the botanists, explorers and naturalists who have studied and cataloged plants and animal species of the Earth. Men and women all animated by the same impulse, curiosity.
This is why the new collection by Daniela Villegas is called Curiosity.

This hunger to discover and understand the world in which we live is not only exciting for the designer (and for all of us), but also a source of inspiration for her jewelry. Each piece of the Curiosity collection, in fact, is dedicated to a scientist who has conquered one more piece of knowledge, has taken an unpublished photograph of nature, has understood unprecedented mechanisms of evolution.
But, beyond the scientific interest, the artistic one remains.

Because Daniela Villegas’s jewels are part of pure creativity. For example, with the series dedicated to Captain James Cook, the navigator who discovered New Zealand and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef on his ship HM Endeavor. With his travels they provided the first accurate map of the Pacific. While Daniela Villegas has created us the necklace in 18 carat gold, a glass lens, tourmalines, zircons, chrysoberines, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, diamonds and rock crystal quartz.
