On the waves with Waskoll

In Paris, the soft and nostalgic lines of the Orient in the jewels of the Waskoll brothers ♦

In Paris, the brothers Cyril and Kirk Waskoll are the heirs of a long tradition of jewelers and gemologists. Recently, after many years, the historic boutique 19 rue de la Paix (in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, near Place Vendome), he added the store at 32 avenue George V. The pair of brothers has divided the tasks: the first design the jewelry, the second chooses gemstones. The result are rich collections of value both for the machining type of jewelry, both for the use of gems of great value, often also large. In 2009 the company he also received the diplome as Company EPV (French Excellence).

A title that is the proof of high quality jewelery and stones signed by Waskoll. An example of the work of the House are the pieces of the Wave collection you see on this page: the shape of the rings is determined by the sinuous waves of yellow or white gold, the waves precisely, which have embedded the stones: diamonds, or rubies, emeralds or sapphires.

Marie Mas’s new mobile jewels

//

The number of mobile jewels of Marie Mas, the brand of the Parisian designer Marie Cabirou, becomes bigger. The Wave collection, which we anticipated here, added other pieces to those presented on the occasion of VicenzaOro September.

The Wave collection is characterized by a sinuous movement of the jewels, which announces mobile elements, ready to follow the curvature of the wearer’s body. The jewels are made of 18 carat pink and white gold.

I chose to work with rainbow moonstones in the Wave Collection to translate the magic of the sea and the shimmer of light dancing on the waves: when the sunlight slides to the surface, the water seems to change color. The dramatic and mysterious chromatic play is captured through the fluttering splendor of the rainbow moonstones as they move. These exquisite gems can be transparent or shine in abandonment. Due to their inner splendor known as flattering, the stones have a naturally seductive blue fire, which makes them very unique and a joy to work with.

The French designer’s jewels combine aesthetic pleasure with playful pleasure: they invite you to play with the jewels and, at the same time, offer an aesthetic in symbiosis with the curved lines of the body. After studying at the prestigious École Duperré (art, design and fashion college) and IFM (French fashion institute) in Paris, Marie learned jewelry design by helping Florence Croisier and Shourouk. In 2012 she entered the Christian Dior Couture Maison with Raf Simons, where she honed her skills in designing jewelry. After three years, Marie decided to launch her high fashion and high fashion jewelry line which she named Marie Mas, in homage to her maternal grandmother, Henriette Mas, who influenced her taste for femininity, beauty and creation.

Tamara Comolli, a ring to sustainability

/

A ring of Tamara Comolli to help sustainability projects in gold mining ♦ ︎

Tamara Comolli heart of gold. Not only because the founder of the brand that bears his name draws jewels with precious metal. Tamara Comolli has a heart of gold for the particular sensitivity in supporting the Eathbeat Foudation through the donation of 3% of the revenues deriving from the sale of the rings of the Wave line (Signature collection, purchased in the single-brand boutiques or on the brand’s online shop).

The Earthbeat Foundation supports sustainability in the gold sector.

The goal is to create alternative and sustainable income structures, especially for children and for women working in gold mining with information on health, finance, strengthening of human rights, labor protection, savings systems and education
Here are some examples: Eathbeat Foudation is engaged in temporary projects Heartbeat Honey and Heartbeat Garden, to promote a sustainable lifestyle for both people and nature. The project has already funded one year of education for 80 gold prospectors to become beekeepers. The Heartbeat Garden project, on the other hand, educates local populations to the cultivation of natural resources such as bamboo or vetiver to be used for different uses and businesses. The foundation also works on long-term solutions for access to drinking water. To get the aid in the short term, Earthbeat has partnered with TivaWater, installing filters to purify groundwater as a major breakthrough in disease prevention.
Progetto Heartbeat Honey

The Wave ring by Tamara Comolli symbolizes the power of nature and, in particular, an element much loved by the designer: water.

This is why it embodies the ideal symbol to associate with this initiative. Together with the Earthbeat Foundation, Tamara Comolli is committed to empowering the people of the gold mines in Busia, in eastern Uganda to offer a concrete contribution to improving the quality of life of local populations in a sustainable way.

Tamara Comolli, producing high jewelery, is strongly linked to reliable sources for high quality gold. The work of gold prospectors is important and much appreciated, especially for the protection of these unique sources. The goal is to protect and support them with donations that come from the sale of jewelry made of pure gold, thus returning something to their communities in the long term.
