Romantic Gothic for Lebole Gioielli

The Gothic style, alongside the passion for Japan and its myths, has always inspired Lebole Gioielli earrings. And this is not surprising, given that the designer Barbara Lebole loves to collect (artistic) skulls. Now within the Lebole Gioielli Gothic collection, presented a few years ago, the Hoop line is born. This is what is called a transversal collection, made up of small gold-plated silver circles, enriched with ever-changing elements.

Among the hanging elements are proposed the classic designs of the Romantic Gothic such as the heart, the four-leaf clover, the cross and, of course, the skull. To these are added the many colored and multi-shaped elements of the Gothic Mobile Characters such as the cameo, a fragment of coral, but also the elephant, Buddha, the heart, the leaf. A gothic extended also to subjects inspired by the Asian world, in short. The earrings are closed with simple drops in natural stones.

Beside the fascination for Japan, Barbara Lebole has a fondness for the dark side. This is testified by Caratteri Mobili, the new line of earrings that enriches the Gothic Collection of Lebole Gioielli. The peculiarity of this line concerns the mobile structure of the earrings. It is made of gold galvanized silver and, above all, has its origins in art (another passion of Barbara Lebole), where the word mobiles means are a type of sculpture built to exploit the principles of balance, for example those of Alexander Calder.

In these sculptures the hanging elements balance each other and remain in balance, but not immobile: they oscillate with a minimum movement or breath of breeze. In the same way, the individual pieces that make up the colorful and multi-material earrings are suspended on a silver frame that recalls the Gothic Collection.
Each earring in the collection, single, assembles colored stones of various shapes and small objects that are inspired by the wunderkammer, the rooms of wonders that in the past contained collections of surprising natural objects (for the time). The collection consists of 26 single earrings that can be combined as desired to create the favorite couple.

The dark side of the force has its own charm, let’s face it. But it is not necessary to become followers of Lord Vader to appreciate the dark side of life, the shadows that can make a flat goodness interesting. All this, perhaps, is summarized in the Gothic collection of Lebole Gioielli. What is now enriched with new elements, such as the black cat and the half moon, which are added to the crosses and skulls already present in the collection. The pair of earrings is, like the other pieces, made of silver galvanized gold, but this time plays on the contrast between the golden base, designed as a wall covered with striped upholstery and the black surface of the contrasting cat. The black natural stones recall the romantic neogothic culture, a bit dark, a little alchemical. The pairs of earrings are all asymmetrical and the cat is accompanied by the half moon studded with stars. Prices: half-moon, single earring, costs 85 euros. Gothic, but romantic: skulls and shamrocks, butterflies and crosses in the new Lebole Gioielli line.
Barbara Lebole, owner together her mother Nicoletta of jewelry brand that bears their name, for years he collects skulls. At home she has several but her children, she says, aren’t impress at all. It is therefore with a light heart that the small Tuscan Maison presented the Gotico Romantico, where also appear stylized skulls. Although the dark atmosphere is balanced by signs less gloomy: there are the skulls, all right, but also butterflies, crosses and shamrocks. Dominant colors, not surprisingly, are black and gold.

The style recalls the nineteenth century passion for stories of ghosts and vampires, and probably will find a warm welcome from the passionate of the Twilight series and the like. Silver, worked with a special galvanic subtraction, which alternates shiny areas of the opaque metal embroidery, black natural stone, until the components used to make pairs of earrings, all asymmetric, choker necklaces and velvet.
