Schreiner, luxury made in Germany

///

High jewelry in a big way with the German Maison Schreiner. For those who love luxury ♦ ︎

Who said that high jewelery in Europe is only found in certain places, such as Place Vendôme in Paris or in the laboratories of the Maison of Valenza and Vicenza? Even in Germany high jewelery flourishes, also thanks to Schreiner. The jewelry company is named after the founder, Gerhard Schreiner, who in 1988, after a trip to Colombia, started his business in jewelry market. We are talking about a jeweler, but also a German entrepreneur. Unlike many other small companies, Schreiner is organized in a big way, with 300 employees and designers working in Italy and Spain.

The Maison loves to point out that the jewels of the Schreiner collections are found today in many royal houses in all countries.

Schreiner, parure di diamanti e smeraldi

Because the fine jewelry that Schreiner proposes is of the opulent, rich kind, which makes status. Great necklaces, with lots of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, choker and earrings, sumptuous rings and, sometimes, even top quality pearls. Jewels for those who are not afraid to show their wealth and, indeed, want to show it. Alessia Mongrando

The ice age of Stenzhorn

The Ice Age (Ice Zeit) seen from Stennzhorn and presented at Baselworld, among baguette diamonds, carré and brilliant cut ♦ ︎
In a rather cold Basel, Stenzhorn presented a new jewelery line, Ice Zeit. The ice age to which it refers is defined by diamonds, one of the classics of the German Maison. The entire collection, which has its most important piece in Storm necklace, made with the three lines discontinuous, is based on the play of brilliant cut diamonds, baguette and carré. The stones are also emphasized thanks to the invisible frame with a technique developed by Stenzhorn. According to the German company, with this type of setting the necklace becomes like a second skin: the technique was developed by Stenzhorn and is called, in fact, 2nd Skin. The new collection consists of necklaces, rings and bracelets, which are reminiscent of ice crystals. The Stenzhorn brothers founded Stenzhorn House of Jewelery in 1979 in Boppard, an ancient German city between the Rhine and Moselle rivers. And now the company is getting ready to celebrate its first 40 years.
The new jewelry collection is, however, in the style of the Maison, which today counts on three different production sites. For example, Muse, a collection launched last fall, which always sees diamonds at the center. Giulia Netrese

Kinetic jewels stop

/

The German designer Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach, famous for her kinetic jewels, passes the delivery to her daughter Claudia ♦ ︎
Kinetic jewels stop. Or, better, they take a little rest their creator, the German designer Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach, who after 30 years has decided to put down the pencil and hand over to her daughter Claudia Schmeddinge and her partner, Andreas Lehmann. The Dusseldorf gallery that has exhibited his creations, has therefore lowered the shutters, but only to renew and make an appointment in March 2018. Curiously, the designer who prefers the refined movements of rings, necklaces and bracelets has announced that at the age of 71 will dedicate to her favorite hobby: fishing, in the Netherlands (but without giving up a role of advisor on her former activity).
The professional history of Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach began in 1971, after a jewelry design school. Then, she soon began to design the jewels that have become a sort of design icon: kinetic jewels. These are almost always rings in 750 yellow gold, with frames that move without visible joints or hinges. It is not easy. This is why the designer won the number of prizes. Now all that remains is to wait for the new collections this time signed by the couple Schmedding-Lehmann, who for years has joined Barbara Schulte-Hengesbach in her work. Giulia Netrese
