The historic Maison Gismondi 1754 is based in Genoa, a seafaring city. Massimo Gismondi, CEO and mind of the company, loves the sea. Two aspects that present the new collection of the Italian brand, shown at Vicenzaoro, which is called Vela. As with boats driven by the wind, the Vela collection also has two characteristics: it is practical, easy to wear and to combine, but it is also elegant. The style and volumes of the jewels are inspired by the individual elements that characterize sailboats, such as the snap hook closure, but also by the curves of ropes and cords used to equip the boats. The Vela collection maintains the style of Gismondi 1754, with surfaces in rose gold and diamonds, and consists of bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces.

Genoa, an Italian city overlooking the sea, has the oldest district crossed by an intricate maze of alleys. And Genoa is also the city of Gismondi 1754, a jewelry brand that has been listed on the Italian Stock Exchange for almost a year. But in presenting the Dedalo (the italian word means labyrinth) collection, the Genoese Maison also remembers that Daedalus is also the name of the legendary builder of the labyrinth of Crete. And for this reason the contemporary jewelry collection has its roots in the inspirations of the past.

In fact, the jewels in the collection feature a pattern that, in some way, can recall the recesses and the irregular path of a labyrinth. But without exceeding: the slits that segment earrings, bracelets and band rings alternate with a regular rhythm, interspersed with lines of small white or black diamonds. The jewels are offered in rose, white and black rhodium-plated gold. The collection also includes two pairs of cufflinks in pink or black gold.

Fine jewelry and high jewelry: the production of Gismondi 1754 travels on a two-track family-run business based in Genoa. La Maison won the Couture Design Awards in the People’s Choice category. A sign that everyone loved the necklace from the Essenza collection, made with a cascade of diamonds and emeralds. But, alongside unique pieces of fine jewelry, Gismondi 1754 also presented more traditional precious jewels, such as the Dedalo collection, in rose gold and diamonds, with geometric grooves running through the metal. A modern line, current, very European, very Italian design, which follows the most famous Aura collection, where the common thread is instead the concentric circles.
