Les Boundless Souls by Leonori

Leonori Gioielli was founded in Forlì by Agostino Leonori in 1962 and today it is managed by the third generation of the family. Sixty years later, the Romagna brand is still a stimulating exception: it manages to combine the classic Italian jewelry tradition with an innovative design that is difficult to identify outside the large goldsmith districts, or the large Maisons that dominate the sector. One proof is the new Anime collection. From the company they explain that the collection “is inspired by the souls encountered along our travels” and also for this reason represented by the white enamel that alternates with the black one.

But not only. Because the design also incorporates the geometry of the company’s historical and representative logo, it is revised in a modern key: it is a quadrilobe composed of four semicircles arranged in the shape of a cross, which form a stylized four-leaf clover. The iconic collection is made up of an architecture of 15 different models. The Leonori symbol is thus transformed into jewels in pink gold, enamel and diamonds.

For the Anime collection I was inspired by my passion for Arab peoples and influenced by my Italian heritage. Starting from this base I made the first piece of the Anime collection. For the first time we have used enamel as a distinctive manufacturing element, I am convinced that color is useful for giving life to the jewel, in this case we started with the two colors black and white, this choice could be considered a tribute to elegance of Arab women and their beautiful dresses. The motifs that characterize the Arab countries are often made up of geometric designs on combinations of repeating squares and circles, which can be overlapped and intertwined. This type of artistic expression uses the leaf or flower as a starting point, which are deprived of their natural form to be transformed into something different. I did exactly this, I took inspiration from the art around me and designed my first Anime jewelry.

Leonori to the top

Leonori’s high jewelery, an Italian Maison that is high ranking as the bigs ♦ ︎
In Forlì, Emilia Romagna, a stone’s throw from the beaches of the Adriatic Riviera, Cesare Boccalatte manages to offer high jewelery. And this is not a way of saying. To create rings with fantastic emeralds, diamonds and sapphires is Leonori Gioielli a Maison that was founded by Agostino Leonori in 1962. Maestro of jewelery, Leonori studied in Orafa School of Valenza, the cradle of Italian high jewelery, and worked for over 20 years in companies in the industry.

When he learned the secrets of the craft, he returned to his native Forlì where he opened a small jewelery shop. It tells the story of the company that the activity continued with his sons Cesare, Lucio and Daniela. They have expanded and promoted the business, and attracted the attention of customers in Italy and abroad. Caesar, in particular, a few years later made woven relationships around the world to import diamonds from Tel Aviv, emeralds from Colombia, Burmese rubies and Ceylon sapphires. An excellence that focuses on the foreign market (for example, with its presence at the International Jewelery London), thanks to its jewels that have those same quality of the great Maison. As you can see from these images.

Jewels and secrets of Massimiliano Bonoli

Drawings, secrets and innovations by Massimo Bonoli, winner of Andrea Palladio as The Best Italian Jewelery Designer 2018. It is the “pencil” of Mattia Cielo, Breil, Recarlo … ♦ ︎
He works in a secluded corner of Italy, Romagna. Or, better, in Forlì: a city outside the usual jewelry districts. Yet Massimiliano Bonoli won the Andrea Palladio award as The Best Italian Jewelery Designer 2018.

His work is knew, while some aspects of Bonoli’s life are less so. The designer owns a jewelry store, the Ororé di Forlì, but has his own studio in the historic Guarini palace. It is in these rooms that he conceived and designed some of the most successful jewels for many famous brands. One example is, without a doubt, Armadillo, the articulated ring that is one of the icons of Mattia Cielo, for which he also designed the Pavone line and the Rugiada collection, with the use of innovative materials such as titanium or carbon. Her other jewels are those of the Stones collection by Breil, the Love Me or Eternity lines by Recarlo, the Kiara bracelet.

Bonoli has worked as an independent jewelry designer for over 25 years, but his experience began years ago, in the family jewelry store. His curriculum does not include the name of schools such as Central Saint Martins in London, but the less known Institute of Art in Forlì. He then specialized in gemology and restoration of hard stones. Only thanks to his creativity has he started working as a designer and creative director for the important jewelry houses, such as those mentioned. A curiosity: the crown worn by Miss Italia bears the signature of Massimiliano Bonoli. Cosimo Muzzano
