The nature of Cédille Paris

Nature at the center of Cédille Paris collections, the Maison founded by Carmen Aoun ♦ ︎

Carmen Aoun, of Lebanese origin, moved to Paris. Since she was a child, she says she grew up with a love for precious stones and jewelry. Two aspects that she studied until he created his jewelry house, called Cédille Paris. In 2019 she participated for the second time in VicenzaOro, in the Design Room. For those unfamiliar with the French language, it is good to specify that cedille (cedilla) is the graphic sign that is sometimes added to the letter Ç and is pronounced like a soft letter S. And if you look closely at the cedilla it is like an accessory: it looks like a jewel, for example a pair of earrings.

Even the style of Cédille Paris is as fun as its name. But the inspiration has nothing to do with the alphabet. In fact, jewels have almost exclusively a natural subject, sometimes with a bit of humor. As in the case of jewels that represent a fish bone, with gold and fancy diamonds. There is, however, also a more committed line, which recalls the environment at risk for elephants. The Cédille collections are made with diamonds, precious stones and 18-carat gold in white, yellow and pink, as well as some semi-precious stones such as malachite.

Tiffany Save the Wild

Tiffany in favor of elephants (and nature) launches the Save the Wild collection ♦ ︎
After the appeal to Donald Trump in favor of Paris climate agreements, renounced by the US president (see news here), Tiffany get out there still in favor of natural equilibrium. The engagement translates into a pink gold bracelet, which is part of a collection of jewels called Save the Wild: the revenues from the sale of the bracelet will support the Save the Elephants, an organization against poaching, that fights ivory traffickers.
In short, pink gold and diamonds, materials with which the bracelet is made, against ivory. The bracelet costs 3,130 euros and was sold on the Net-a-Porter portal. From September 2017, the entire collection will be launched and available in stores around the world. The initiative was presented in London during a gala evening with the outline of the usual idolized models, but apart from this outbid world, the initiative contributes to a good cause. It also refreshes Tiffany’s image a lot. Federico Graglia

Tiffany, a brooch big as an elephant

A Tiffany initiative in defense of nature and against poaching of elephants.
A pin can be as big as an elephant? Yes, if it is one that Tiffany offers within the #KnotOnMyPlanet campaign. Objective: raising funds in support of the end of the elephant poaching and to stop global traffic and therefore the demand for ivory. As the member of the U.S. Wildlife Trafficking Alliance and as part of Tiffany’s commitment to sustainability, the campaign asks everyone not to forget the elephants at the Elephant Crisis Fund by making a donation. The campaign features some “friends of the House,” they wear, along with a node, a brooch in the shape of the elephant (to scale, though) made in yellow gold and enamel, part of Tiffany Masterpieces 2016 collection that Tiffany & Co. will donate to the cause.
