Six-legged Delfina Delettrez

Delfina Delettrez’s beetle broochs, designed for those who are afraid of insects ♦
It seems that people are attracted to what most frightens them. Or, worse, view as repugnant. It can be the vacuum, the dark, or the insects. It is the case of Delfina Delettrez, in fact, who is suffering from entomophobia, that is, fear of spiders, cockroaches and the like. That’s why she collected insects in special teche. And more, he did more: she created a capsule collection for Dover Street Market, Insectmania, made of beetle-shaped brooches. And, as it is not enough, in the back of the broochs has inserted a real insect preserved in resin. Insects, beetles, are preserved in taxidermy, a technique for the preservation of dead animals, usually destined for natural history museums.
The idea has matured five years ago, as a reaction and overcoming of the phobia of insects. Now it has also become a proposal for the clothing and accessories chain. The collection consists of three handmade brooches in the Roman atelier of Delfina Delettrez. The jewels are made of pink silver and freshwater pearls, silver and quartz and black silver and cabochon tourmaline. If you too suffer from entomophobia too, be quiet: the broochs do not move.
