The art of mosaics, an appropriate definition for this single piece of Sicis: Arara Scarlet. The company based in Ravenna specialized in construction work with the ancient technique of colored pieces, is also entered in the field of jewelry with some special proposals. One of these is the reproduction of one of the most colorful birds, the Arara. Unfortunately the beauty is also its weak point: this bird has almost disappeared because of human hunting. Worshiped by the Maya as a symbol of strength and courage, lives now in this big necklace linked to the Ara Ara-shaped pendant with wings covered with feathers, that are precious stones ranging from deep blue to green, yellow to bright red. Obviously these tiny gems are inserted with micro mosaic technique: a work to admire, perhaps with the help of a magnifying glass. The jewel, in gold, is set with more than 4 carats of diamonds and 10 carats of sapphires and rubies, with carnelian inlays. Alessia Mongrando
