The hypnotic circles in gold and diamonds by Orlando Orlandini, pure Florentine creativity ♦
Where Florence gives way to the Tuscan countryside there is the jewelery company Orlando Orlandini. The company is one of those stories where Italian craftsmanship joins the creative talent and the ability to manage a small family business. Housed in a former convent, Orlando Orlandini, after a degree in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he began his activities as a goldsmith. And he put his talents there, seen that succeeded where many of us do not even try: it has created a style all his own, unmistakable.
Its starting point and the element with which builds its entire production is the circle. A simple geometric shape, natural, symmetrically perfect. But that if replicated in tens and hundreds of numbers creates a set that becomes a network, a tissue, a play of solid and void. When the circles are small and very close together form the surfaces that resemble a cloth, but of metal. When circular shape is large and thin, the jewelry look like abstract paintings. To break the regularity of the circles are added, moreover, dot of diamond. It’s appropriate to say that Orlandini hit the mark. Giulia Netrese
