A necklace with emoji, the icons that express the moods, is not a masterpiece of jewelry. Yet it costs 3,695 Euros if you buy online at net-a-porter. The jewel is signed Alison Lou, brand directed by creative director Alison Chemla. The brand of fine jewelry is inspired by “the deceptive simplicity of modern communication.” The necklace is composed of a chain and nine smilies with colored enamel and 14K gold. But there are also earrings, bracelets and rings that follow the same philosophy: it use gold, enamel and stones to create jewelry inspired by the digital world, as the icons that are used to send text messages, WhatsApp or email. The prices are certainly not those of simples bijoux, but of real jewels of rank. Only that cater to an audience closer to the Millenials generation. Matilde de Bounvilles
