When first shown to photographers, Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, did not wear only the ring with three diamonds designed personally by her future wife. The Canadian actress and now Duchess of Sussex, in fact, also wore a pair of 18K yellow gold and Birks opal earrings. The Maison is the oldest in Canada: it was founded in 1879 by Henry Birks in Montreal. Over time, the jewelry has expanded: from a small shop has turned into a large company with stores in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver, but the jewels are also distributed in Britain. In the company, in 1993, a bit of Italy also entered: Birks, in fact, was sold to the Regaluxe group, led by Lorenzo Rossi di Montelera. But he continued in his rather traditional jewelry production, even if there is no lack of jewels with a more modern shape, in some cases with slightly art déco geometries.
