Già perché il processo creativo di Simona Mazzolini e del marito Benedetto Martino, parte dalla cera lavorata come scultura, attraverso la quale reinterpretano sensazioni e suggestioni della vita di tutti i giorni. Insomma, l’ispirazione è quella del momento e proprio per questo la varietà di segno è la caratteristica principale. Così ecco spuntare corolle di fiori, rami, foglie, bacche, stelle e talismani in bracciali anelli, orecchini pendenti e collane tutte spazzolati o lucidati a mano. «Lavoriamo l’argento ma soprattutto il bronzo perché i nostri gioielli sono piccole sculture dove il peso ha un suo rilievo e il colore caldo di questo metallo si adatta bene all’evidenza dell’oggetto», spiega Simona Mazzolini. L’esempio migliore di questo concetto è un anello che si appoggia sulla mano e per questo è stato battezzato Talismano. Linee fluide anche per Virgola, un gioiello passepartout che gira dietro al lobo e incornicia l’orecchio. Ai simboli astratti si affiancano temi organici come il pendente Riflessi che si rifà all’increspatura dell’acqua del mare grazie all’uso sapiente di pietre sempipreziose come quarzi, ossidiane, conchiglie, onici agate e labradoriti.
