[wzslider]A collection and an exhibition that has been around the world: Precious, it will arrive in Venice in February. After New York, Athens, Valencia, Miami, Seoul will also host in Italy the 200 works collected by Diane Venet and made by the best-known painters and sculptors from the second half of the twentieth century to the present. From Picasso to Kapoor, from Braque to Koons, from Stella to Hirst. The collection began with a thin stick of silver as a wedding ring of her husband, the sculptor Bernar Venet, has grown over time with other gifts like the brooch crumpled aluminum and painted by Chamberlain or on a specific request, for example to Stella and César or yet the result of the meeting with other collectors. Obviously there are Italians: Giacomo Balla and Gino Severini the great protagonists of Futurism, the sculptor Fausto Melotti, the exponent of the Transavanguardia Mimmo Paladino up to Lucio del Pezzo, Sandro Chia and Mimmo Rotella. Objects like a painting or a sculpture spring from a creative process, testify an artistic approach even more playful, and for this can not be measured in carats.
“Precious – from Picasso to Jeff Koons.” From 8 February to 12 April
