To offer jewels of the third type, in the sense of creations to wear, is the Catania brand Isola Bella, which for Christmas has devised an original proposal that also involves another aspect that characterizes the island, the gastronomy
Isola Bella Gioielli was born in 2013 on the initiative of Alessio Strano and Giuseppe Argurio, designer and project manager. It was immediately characterized as a brand that exalts Sicily and the Mediterranean through the creation of jewels made of 925 silver, enamelled by hand, after having created using the lost wax micro-casting technique. The Capsule Christmas Collection, however, also has the combination with Bonfissuto panettone.
The jewels for the Christmas period are brought together in the lines Fireworks and rigid bracelets, variants of some existing collections, such as the different colors of Balconi di Sicilia and the new Mori bracelets, in support of the already existing earrings and rings. The Fireworks collection is inspired by the pyrotechnic effects that accompany the holidays on the Island and includes a necklace with pendant, earrings and ring, while the Sole Nero and Sole Dorato Bracelet line is dedicated to the sun and Sicily.
Balconi di Sicilia is, instead, a tribute to the art, history and beauty of the island and is enriched with new jewels and new colors, including earrings, necklace with pendant and round purple rosette ring that refer to the colors of the sunset seen from behind the stained glass windows of a baroque palace. The Queen of the Mori Bracelet and King of the Mori, the latest additions to this series of which earrings and rings already exist, recall an ancient legend of love and passion: the head of a young girl and the head of Moro, they become jewels to be given as a token of love.
Finally, Isola Bella has created Christmas packages with the 1 kilogram panettone with Modica Chocolate and Sicilian Orange and with Pistachio and Candied al Limone, in an original by Giulio and Vincenzo Bonfissuto, protagonists of the Sicilian pastry scene. It is a 36-hour Sicilian panettone with natural leavening, made with mother yeast, free-range hens’ eggs and high-quality raw materials in two colored boxes and, in addition, an American Isola Bella Gioielli placemat.
