The jewels of the La Reina Coyote line designed by Daniela Villegas: the wild American desert becomes precious ♦ ︎
Unique pieces, as always. It’s natural: Daniela Villegas uses stones that seem to come from the stony vastness of the deserts. Stones that are different from each other and, above all, are chosen for their shape, color, mélange. The new series of jewelry entitled La Reina Coyote brings your fantasy to imagine those desert areas where the wind is blowing hot, dry grass bushes roll towards the horizon and among the stones only the scorpions face, another animal dear to the designer based on Los Angeles.
La Reina Coyote jewels depict wild desert dogs with a gold crown set by gems.
The coyote its’ depicts with the snout, carved in stones like chrysocolla, or rhodonite, while pink sapphires, diamonds or tourmalines are affixed to the queen’s gold tiara. Thus, bracelets, rings or brooches take on an aggressive but also ironic appearance. A tribute to the great world that lies on the border between the United States and Mexico, the country of origin of Daniela Villegas. And that it’s now remained in the media spotlight, but for other reasons. Margherita Donato
Sono bellissimi… hanno il fascino dei gioielli-amuleti.
Un senso del colore pazzesco. Opere d’arte.
