The Important Jewels auction at Christie’s in New York sold for 20 million dollars. The stars of the day were the white and fancy yellow diamonds. The top lot of the sale was a diamond ring fancy yellow cushion cut, 75.56 carats, which realized $ 3.6 million (the estimate was 3-4 million). Success for a marquise cut diamond, D color, of 18.78 carats, sold for 1.5 million, followed by another D color diamond, heart shape of 12.75 carats, sold for 965 thousand dollars. In fourth place is still a fancy yellow cushion cut diamond of 34.12 carats, sold for 725mila dollars. In short, high prices, but we aren’t near records. They went well jewels signed by the big Maison. Two broochs of Tiffany & Co. designed in 1967 by Donald Claflin as pre-Columbian figures, with hats in pink tourmaline pear shaped, ceremonial dress in citrine in rectangular cut, their faces carved coral and turquoise feet, they were sold to about ten times their estimate. For one, with gold and turquoise sticks, and pear-shaped, were disbursed 233mila euro (the estimate was 10-15 thousand), while the other went for 137 thousand.
