Her creations have been seen as a breath of fresh air: in 2007 Caroline Gaspard, French transplanted in Russia, has founded Akillis. The brand, which recalls the English verb to kill, has become a reference point for those who like an aggressive design, unconventional. The world that inspired the designers, in fact, is that of the Bond girls, the beautiful women of the 007 movies. The reason is a episode: a 27 year old heir to a dynasty of office supplies, Caroline found herself involved in a shootout in Moscow, where he followed her boyfriend. She herself says, he fired shots. “I felt a kind of fear and excitement mixed with a sense of power to be a Bond girl,” she said. That experience has suggested the idea of designing jewelry in the shape of the projectile. “My creations are designed for Paris Hilton and for tough men.”
The passion for jewelry, in any case, was started before the adventures as Bond girl. Caroline Gaspard began designing jewelry when was 17, initially to make personalized gifts. The first jewel that created was the father was called King George, the parent’s name. He also tried the silk painting, watercolor. In Moscow, however, the French designer live fine: “After school I fell in love in Moscow. This is a free country, modern, dynamic, where everything is possible if desired. She turn her work to the jewelry and founds Akillis, that is a name, Achilles. But the name was changed to mean the aggressive side and provocative brand. For her jewelry Caroline uses 18K gold, white gold, yellow gold, gold, glossy or satin rose. But even black gold, that is a layer of rhodium black on white gold.
