Laut Graf Mercy-Argenteau, Botschafter \u00d6sterreichs in Frankreich, wurden sie teils mit Edelsteinen aus der Sammlung der K\u00f6nigin und teils mit den Geldern bezahlt, die die K\u00f6nigin von ihrem Gemahl, K\u00f6nig Ludwig XVI., erhalten hatte. Zur Zeit der Revolution wurden die Juwelen nach Belgien gebracht und dann an Madame Royale, die \u00fcberlebende Tochter von Marie Antoinette, weitergegeben. Ein Diamant im Birnenschliff von 55,50 Karat wurde f\u00fcr 4,5 Millionen Euro verkauft. Eine Gelbgoldbrosche mit Diamanten im Tropfen- und Baguetteschliff und Rubin im Kissenschliff, signiert Van Cleef &amp; Arpels, wurde f\u00fcr 3,8 Millionen Euro verkauft. Ein Platinring mit einem ovalen Diamanten im Brillantschliff von 43,19 Karat kostete insgesamt 3,1 Millionen Euro.
