August 1789 geboren wurde. Ihre Mutter starb zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter und Stephanie verbrachte ihre ersten Jahre mit den Nonnen auf dem franz\u00f6sischen Land. Ein solcher Ursprung ist sehr wahrscheinlich. Auf vielen Gem\u00e4lden sind Hortense und ihre Mutter Kaiserin Josephine in kostbaren G\u00fcrteln zu sehen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus belegen die Finanzpapiere von Hortense, die im Napol\u00e9on-Archiv in Paris aufbewahrt werden, ihr Verm\u00f6gen zwischen 1817 und 1837, dem Jahr ihres Todes.
