Die Sammlung hei\u00dft Escale \u00e0 Venise und die italienische Stadt wurde nicht nur wegen ihrer Sch\u00f6nheit, der Einzigartigkeit ihrer Architektur und der Atmosph\u00e4re in den Gassen ausgew\u00e4hlt, sondern auch, weil sie von Mademoiselle Coco, der Gr\u00fcnderin des Pariser Maison, geliebt wurde. Coco Chanel entdeckte Venedig 1920 nach dem Unfalltod ihrer gro\u00dfen Liebe Boy Capel. Architektur und die typischen Elemente der Stadt, wie die farbig gestreiften Stangen, die zum Festmachen von Gondeln und Booten dienen werden hohe Schmuck. In der Sammlung, wie auch in der Kathedrale von San Marco, gibt es auch orientalische Vorschl\u00e4ge, die das Ergebnis des Handels der alten Venezianer \u00fcber die Adria sind. Wie im Fall des Plastrons von Cam\u00e9lia Byzantin, mit gelben Saphiren, die eine Blume mit Edelsteinbl\u00e4ttern umgeben. Andere Juwelen hingegen scheinen auf das goldene Zeitalter des venezianischen 18. Jahrhunderts hinzuweisen.
