Oder genauer gesagt, was es umgibt. Im September organisierte Christie &#8217;s von Mittwoch, 11. bis Donnerstag, 16. eine Ausstellung in Paris, die von der Schmuckabteilung des gr\u00f6\u00dften Auktionshauses kuratiert wurde. Die Ausstellung hei\u00dft A Vanity Affair und vereint 75 luxuri\u00f6se Make-up-H\u00fcllen der gr\u00f6\u00dften Schmuckh\u00e4user des Place Vend\u00f4me. Diese begannen in der Regel zu besonderen Anl\u00e4ssen als Geschenk aneinander und entwickelten sich mit zunehmender Sammlung zu einem proaktiveren und ernsthafteren Unterfangen, oft mit Sch\u00e4tzen, die sich \u00fcber ausgedehnte Perioden, Stile und Regionen erstreckten. Der Zaubertrank in diesen Sammlungen ist die Emotion. Jahrhundert bis zur Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts nachzuvollziehen. Die Sammlung dokumentiert die Geschmacksentwicklung zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen und dem Wechsel von Politik und Finanzen. Es ist auch eine Hymne an die Handwerkskunst der gr\u00f6\u00dften Schmuckh\u00e4user, die diese Accessoires f\u00fcr &#8222;moderne Frauen&#8220; geschaffen haben. Van Cleef et Arpels 1935<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<p>Zwischen den zwanziger und f\u00fcnfziger Jahren versorgten fast alle gro\u00dfen Schmuckh\u00e4ndler eine Elite-Kundschaft mit diesen kleinen Schachteln aus Gold und Silber, die mit Diamanten, farbigen Edelsteinen, Jade und Koralle verziert waren und von der \u00c4sthetik des Tages bestimmt waren und viele unverwechselbare Stile widerspiegelten, Belle Epoche, Art Deco, Orientalisch oder Retro.
