Das Juwel besteht aus 260 Karat Diamanten. Unter den Juwelen der damaligen Zeit wurde die Pendeloque-Brosche mit Diamanten, Korallen, Smaragden und Perlen ebenfalls hoch gesch\u00e4tzt. Sie wurde f\u00fcr 824.000 Dollar verkauft, mehr als das Doppelte der h\u00f6chsten Sch\u00e4tzung (350.000). Die Form der Brosche ist geschmeidig: urspr\u00fcnglich sollte sie die Schulter bedecken. Aber sie wurde vom indischen Sarpech inspiriert, einer Turban-Nadel, die wie eine Quaste zwischen ihren Augenbrauen h\u00e4ngt. Entworfen vom gro\u00dfen amerikanischen Juwelier Paulding Farnham, wurde dieses Set erstmals auf der Weltausstellung von 1904 in St. Louis gezeigt, die den 100. Jahrestag des Louisiana Purchase von 1803 feierte. Damals war Farnham der Hauptdesigner von Tiffany &amp; Co und der Schmuckregisseur, verantwortlich f\u00fcr ber\u00fchmte Designs, darunter seine gefeierte Orchideenserie und die Belmont Stakes Trophy. Die Halskette und die Ohrringe, die in der Auktion pr\u00e4sentiert werden, sind mit gro\u00dfen Diamanten im Rosenschliff verziert, die von antiken europ\u00e4ischen Diamanten und Einzelschliffdiamanten eingerahmt sind.
