Der Name Morganit bezieht sich jedenfalls nicht auf die Fee Morgana, sondern wurde von dem amerikanischen Mineralogen George Frederick Kunz zu Ehren des amerikanischen Bankiers John Pierpont Morgan, Steinsammler (und Gr\u00fcnder von eine der gr\u00f6\u00dften noch im Gesch\u00e4ft befindlichen Banken, JP Morgan).<br \/>\nUnd hier ist eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Verwendung dieses raffinierten Steins: Ohrringe mit \u00fcber 100 Karat Morganit. Sie wurden auf der Baselworld von Jacob &amp; Co, Maison of New York, pr\u00e4sentiert, die oft besonders wertvolle Schmuckst\u00fccke pr\u00e4sentiert. Die Ohrringe haben insgesamt vier Morganitsteine. Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte wiegt 93,88 Karat, w\u00e4hrend der etwas kleinere 6,35 Karat wiegt. Nicht nur das: 98 birnenf\u00f6rmige Diamanten mit einem Gesamtgewicht von 8,61 Karat schm\u00fccken die Ohrringe, die mit \u00fcber 360 wei\u00dfen Pav\u00e9-Diamanten weiter akzentuiert sind.
