Wohl auch, weil seine Ausbildung weit entfernt von Gold und Diamanten war: Grima studierte Maschinenbau in London und war w\u00e4hrend des Zweiten Weltkriegs Teil der Royal Engineers. Ein seltsamer Zufall f\u00fchrte ihn dann in die Buchhaltung des Schmuckunternehmens des Vaters seiner Frau und von dort in die Designabteilung. Die Vorstellungskraft und innovativen L\u00f6sungen bei der Herstellung von Juwelen machten ihn ber\u00fchmt und gesch\u00e4tzt von der k\u00f6niglichen Familie sowie von Prominenten der damaligen Zeit. Er gilt als Urvater des modernen Schmucks, der nicht mehr im traditionellen Stil verankert ist. Ein Weg, der durch die zum Verkauf stehenden Juwelen bezeugt wird, St\u00fccke, die auch nach einem halben Jahrhundert noch au\u00dferordentlich avantgardistisch sind.<br \/>\n<figure
