Zun\u00e4chst einmal sind Elektroautos keine gr\u00fcnen Produkte: Sie verbrauchen viel, in der Regel nicht erneuerbare Energie, und der Bau ihrer riesigen Batterien erfordert Ausgrabungen und Landverw\u00fcstungen, um die sogenannten Seltenen Erden zu gewinnen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden diese Batterien mit Blick auf die Zukunft am Ende ihres Lebenszyklus ein gro\u00dfes Managementproblem darstellen. Neben h\u00f6heren Kosten ben\u00f6tigen Elektroautos auch eine noch aufzubauende Infrastruktur, um den zum Aufladen ben\u00f6tigten Strom \u00fcberall hin zu bringen. Dies bedeutet Tausende von Kilometern an Kupferkabeln, die neben dem Energieverbrauch, der f\u00fcr die Schaffung von Millionen von Ladepunkten erforderlich ist, eine enorme Erzgewinnung verursachen werden. Daher sind Teslas und Elektroautos im Allgemeinen keine wirklich gr\u00fcnen Produkte. Aber die Nachhaltigkeit von Elektroautos ist nicht der Punkt.
